Will my AI photos have artifacts?

Artifacts in AI photos — things like distorted hands, blurry edges, strange textures, or inconsistent details — are a known challenge across all AI image generation tools. PhotosShoot works hard to minimise them.

How common are artifacts?

With PhotosShoot's latest models, artifacts are rare in standard portrait and headshot styles. The vast majority of generated photos come out clean and professional-looking.

When artifacts are more likely:

  • Complex poses involving hands (hands are notoriously difficult for all AI models)

  • Very detailed backgrounds or busy environments

  • Extreme close-ups where fine details are magnified

  • Highly stylised or surrealistic prompts

  • Older model versions (always train a fresh model for best quality)

What to do if you get artifacts:

    1. Regenerate — Slight prompt variations often produce a clean version

  • Use Magic Edit — PhotosShoot's inpainting tool lets you select and fix specific problem areas

  • Adjust your prompt — Simplify complex elements that may be causing issues

  • Upscale — The upscaler can sometimes smooth minor artifacts in otherwise good photos

  • Try a different photo pack — Some styles are better suited to the current model

PhotosShoot's ongoing improvements: We continuously update our generation pipeline to reduce artifact frequency. Newer models — especially those using the Hyper Realism pipeline — produce significantly cleaner results than earlier versions.

If you consistently get artifacts on a specific type of generation, report it via the bug board so we can investigate.
